While we’re talking about the new banner, let me quickly point out some of the other features. The Joseph Smith star at the left side of the banner is inspired by the logo of the APRA party in Peru . (The APRA party has historically been a non-Marxist reformist movement. Early in its existence, it considered itself a revolutionary party, but it has operated within democracy for decades. It has also never governed well–but that’s life…) The Joseph Smith image inside the star comes from the famous drawing of the Prophet preaching to Native Americans. Finally, the text in the banner is in the Gorey font.
